I bet. It's really scary. Like... I DO understand. Not in the same way, but like, I would routinely get possessed back home. All of a sudden your brain is just not calling the shots and it's... [He frowns as he tries to articulate the feeling.]
[ He looks at Iggy and listens quietly. Dom can't help but compare the possession to what he goes through, except he only deals with it once a month — normally — whereas Iggy probably got possessed way more often than that. ]
What's it like not having to worry about it here?
[ He assumes that's what Iggy means by 'back home', and not including this place. ]
A relief, mostly. Sometimes I feel guilty - there ARE ghosts here - but mostly is just nice not to wake up like...
[He sighs and pushes his hair back.]
Sometimes when I was out clubbing I'd black out. And I figured, you know, I party hard. But I think sometimes I'd just get taken over, because I'd wake up in the weirdest places. Abandoned buildings. Outside care homes. Apartment hallways. The cemetery.
[ Dom goes quiet, still thinking about how he can relate to some parts and how different others are. Iggy's ordeal comes from the outside, Dom's always been from the inside. ]
Me too. One second I'm here, then I'm not. And then I know time's passed, but it also hasn't. And then I'll wake up covered in blood and — not totally covered —anyway, it's gross.
Sometimes I think I get memories of what happens. In my dreams and stuff. I could totally be making those up, though.
Good, that most be so scary. The blood especially.
I think that our subconscious remembers a lot, and it shows up in dreams. Me, I dream other people's memories most of the time. It's like ghosts leave little bits of themselves behind.
I guess I got used to it. [ A light, sad shrug. ] As long as it's mine and not someone else's.
[ There's a pause then. He hadn't even thought about how he must have had to clean up the blood of his victims during the game. It gives him a spike of anxiety. More guilt. He has to shake it off. ]
It's more like... it grows on me? It feels like my whole body's stretching and I just become it. When the moon's gone the whole wolf skin just— falls off me. That's why I always get blood on me.
[ That's the problem, isn't it? Dom keeps fucking up and people keep caring about him. Maybe he needs to accept that that's a part of him as much as the scar is. ]

[Iggy's expression softens.]

It makes you wonder who YOU are.

But I never knew for sure. And that bothered me.

Good memories?

[Iggy smiles softly.] Sometimes, yeah.

Does it hurt? It sounds painful.

[ He scratches behind his ear lightly. ]
Teddie's seen all of it. The one from back home, but this one too.

You're not half as unlovable as you seem to think, Dom.

Guess so.
Tell me about the dream-memories?
