The vampire-witches hybrids from my world can do magic just fine. Better than fine, actually, but that's more related to the type of witches they were before turning. Any other witch would lose their magic upon turning. Me personally, am an exception. I'm usually an exception, which gets annoying after a while.
But maybe the mix up could play in favor here. Hey, we have nothing but time to throw things at the wall and see what stick.
